BALI TO GILI AIR

There are a variety of ways of getting from Bali to Gili Air.  Most of the time the best option is dependant on where in Bali you will be staying.  The majority of visitors going from Bali to the Gili Islands and Lombok use one of the fast boat services that make daily scheduled departures from Serangan, Padang Bai or Amed in Bali.  And although not all boats go directly to Gili Air it is very easy to get to Gili Air from either Lombok or Gili Trawangan. You can also get from Bali to Gili Air by taking a domestic flight from Bali to Lombok.  This is a longer journey and although flights are slightly cheaper than the fast boat tickets the total cost of the trip is more expensive than the fast boats.  See more information about flights from Bali to Lombok.

For the slightly more adventurous traveller, or if you have plenty of time and a budget to think about then you could also use the public ferry which departs from Padang Bai and arrives in Lembar harbour on Lombok.  This is by far the cheapest way of getting from Bali to the Gili Islands but will take you all day (if you are lucky).
